The museum as a center of educational work. Experience of the Vinnytsia Regional Museum of Local Lore

Abstract

The paper analyzes the formation and functioning of the museum in the system of educational space of modern Ukrainian society. The role of museums, their functions, principles and directions of activity are outlined; the experience of reforming modern methods of conducting museum affairs in European countries is analyzed; the process of formation of local history, museum and monument protection activities in Podilla is considered. The research is based on cultural, systemic and value approaches, the principles of historicism, complexity and comprehensiveness, the logical method is applied, and the historical-comparative method is also involved for this research.
The author emphasizes the role of the educational activity of the museum as a socio-cultural center on the example of the excursion activities of the Vinnytsia Regional Museum of Local History.
