Domestic Policy and Reforms of José Batlle y Ordóñez in Uruguay

Abstract

The master's thesis analyzes the activities of the prominent Uruguayan president José Batlle y Ordóñez (1903–1907, 1911–1915), focusing on his social, political, and economic policies. The research is based on the principles of historicism, system analysis, and scientific objectivity, utilizing comparative and historical-genetic methods. His reformist policies are examined within the Latin American context of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
