Abstract

The master's thesis is devoted to the study of the role of Japan in the Second World War, the analysis of its internal and external motives, military strategies, as well as the consequences of the defeat for the country and the world community. The work examines the key factors that prompted Japan to pursue an aggressive policy, including the militarization of society, economic dependence on external resources, and the desire for dominance in the Asia-Pacific region. The conducted analysis allows us to find out how the combination of nationalist ideology and economic ambitions became the destructive force of Japanese expansion.
