Public audit in the system public administration: European experience and Ukraine

Abstract

The purpose of the public audit in the political system is to inform the society about the results of the independent professional assessment of the activities of the state authorities and local self-government bodies and to develop recommendations for the modernisation of public administration and financial control. Public audit contributes to increasing the transparency, efficiency and effectiveness of management decisions in the public sphere, responsibility and accountability of public authorities to the public.
