Abstract

The Masterʼs thesis is devoted to the comparative analysis of onomatopoeic vocabulary in English and French languages.
The material of the study includes English and French mimetic lexemes selected by the method of total sampling from monolingual dictionaries of English and French. The sample size is 808 lexical and semantic units (516 in English and 292 in French). 617 units are analyzed in detail in the work.
