Genre and stylistic features of Oleksandr Dovzhenko's film story "Ukraine in fire"

Abstract

In the qualifying work, the concepts of "genre" and "style" were investigated, the concept of "film narrative" and the figure of Oleksandr Dovzhenko as a representative of this genre were characterized. The problem of defining these concepts and the phenomenon of the film novel genre are considered. The work analyzes Oleksandr Dovzhenko's film story "Ukraine on fire", the genre and style features of this film story, the imagery and specificity of Oleksandr Dovzhenko's authorial style. The mythological and folklore elements and features of the national character in Oleksandr Dovzhenko's film story "Ukraine on Fire" are considered.
