Autobiographical Discourse of Novelism by Pavlo Volvach

Abstract

The qualifying work describes the phenomenon of autobiography in world and Ukrainian literature; studies devoted to works with an autobiographical component are considered; and also defined the structure of autobiography as a discourse (the era – personality of the author and other real characters – events). The peculiarities of the reproduction of P. Volvach’s era and its socio-political problems in the novels "Klyasa", "Khreshchatyk-Plaza" and "Dreams of a Neophyte" are studied. The specifics of the reflection of the author’s personality and his fate in the specified works have been determined. It is proved that P. Volvach’s novels can be considered autobiographical.
