Phraseological units of biblical origin in the Ukrainian language

Abstract

In the qualifying work, phraseological units of biblical origin were investigated. The linguistic nature of phraseological meaning is considered. The status of the biblical phraseological unit is determined, and their qualifying features are established. The collected factual material was arranged according to genetic, semantic, structuralgrammatical and axiological principles. It was found that in the phraseologisation of phrases and sentences, the onymic component has a special phrase-opening performance. For each biblical phraseological unit, the biblical situation that generated this unit is selected.
