Historical memory in the legislation of independent Ukraine

Abstract

The paper is based on the analysis of the importance of understanding the laws on historical memory and their influence on the formation of narratives of historical events. Further research in this area is also warranted, including examining the potential limitations and biases of memory laws. The author offers recommendations for future research, including the study of the role of memory laws in the formation of national identity and the impact of their application on freedom of speech. In general, the work contributes to the continuous development of knowledge in this field, emphasizing the legal definitions of historical memory.
